Magdalene Center for Universal Spirituality - Restoring Balance for Everyday Life
REFLECTIONS

Hello Sunnyvale!!

 January 26th
Many of you have been coming to our site.  We are grateful that you have shown an interest in our vision.  As we track the hits, we are curious as to who and where the hits are coming from.  Many have come from around the world and around the United States.  When you read this, we ask that you go to contact  page and fill in the form.  We will be in touch.  It is wonderful to see that so many are asking basic questions and searching for answers, not that we have THE answer, but if you so choose, we can serve as a guide on your spiritual journey.  The Divine Mother has many blessings for all of you, if you open your heart and mind.

 Prologue

It has long been my belief that all religions share a common core, that the TRUTH can be found in any path that is followed with a sincere and open heart.  I have discovered that I am not the only one to hold such a belief. Joseph Campbell, James Frazier, and Carl Jung are only three of many who have made it their life’s work to explore the universal
symbolism found in myths from around the world.
It is my intention, in this, and future columns, to explore the works of those who have gone before, as well as, the various spiritual traditions, to show the commonality of all paths, and encourage the idea that all paths lead to the Divine.
“The truth is one the sages speak of it by many names”
Vedas
Joseph Campbell in The Hero with a Thousand Faces, published 2008 by the Joseph Campbell Foundation, calls it the monomyth, the one story common to all people, told through symbols found in the myths and dreams of every civilization throughout time.
“A dream is a personalized myth, a myth is a depersonalized dream”, in a dream the problems and solutions may be for the individual, but in a myth they are for all. The symbols in both dreams and myths are products of the psyche, and carry with them the power of their source. These symbols have survived into modern times, where the shaman of old has been replaced by the analyst of today, who conducts the ‘hero’ across the “threshold of transformation.” The function of mythology and ritual is to provide the
Initiatory images needed to carry the human spirit forward, if these symbols do not come from the outside through ritual and myth, they will come from the inside through dreams.
So, not only is the TRUTH in every path, it is in every dream, and therefore every one of us.

MANY PATHS  MANY TEACHERS Just as there are many paths to God, there are many teachers, all teaching one lesson We are all children of God, and as children of God we all carry the light of God within us.However, sometimes we forget and that is when we turn to a teacher, to remind us of who we are and what we have always known.             So why spend five hundred dollars or more to remember what we all ready know? While it is understandable to want to use our gifts, and skills to earn a living, there are times when the profit margin seems to high. We were given a gift, a gift should be GIVEN away. The healers and teachers of old ask only that their basic needs be met, not for a new car or mansion.              At the Church of the Divine Mother and Magdalene Center we only ask for an energy exchange or love offering, we will even accept feathers and stones. So join us as we remember together The Church of the Divine Mother The Magdalene Center for Universal Spirituality
